Round table 13 June: Student mobility and training opportunities, what are the dynamics in New Aquitaine today?

Thursday 13 June - 18H30-20h00 - Amphi Denucé - Victory Campus
In this month of June, when the results of Parcoursup fall, in a Bordeaux metropolis that still bears the traces of the "yellow vests" movement, this round table questions student mobility in New Aquitaine. Here, as elsewhere, the training map reflects the diversity of the territory: from large traditional university centres to small branches in medium-sized towns, the courses offered are not the same everywhere. Students have to make their choices - choices that are constrained by their academic level, but also by their budget or geographical origin. Choices that, in turn, question our model of society: should we bet on the growth of university metropolises or preserve or even extend the network of the territory? What consequences can we draw from this on the organisation of public or individual transport, both in the region and in the major cities, at a time when the impact of transport on the environment can no longer be ignored? Led by a geographer specializing in student mobility, this round table will give a voice to the actors of New Aquitaine.

- Gérard Blanchard, Vice-President of the New Aquitaine Region, in charge of Higher Education and Research
- Maureen Braquessac, Director of the Observatoire bordelais de la formation et de la vie universitaire, Director of Economic Analysis and Statistical Studies, Pôle Pilotage et Aide à la Stratégie de l'Université de Bordeaux.
- Nicolas Fontaine, General Manager of Mobility, Bordeaux metropolitan area

Round table moderated by Myriam Baron, Professor of Geography at the University of Paris Est Créteil
